Black Book Samples

First, I'd like to thank all those who have purchased my book hand to hand at conventions, from the shop, on the train, street, and from Unimax Tat Supply (269 Canal, NY). I had hoped it would sell modestly, but so far it's had quite the response as being something never seen before in the art flash community since Boog. To hear that, was like being compared to doin' cross-overs like Iverson, to me.

I'm currently working to set up ordering capability thru my Face Book Store. Almost there, but have some bugs to work out, though. I'll 'blast' an announcement.

To all those that have been inquiring, I thank you for your patience. And to those that have already purchased either a book or work from it, I truly thank you.

With this being almost my 6th year in the game, I hope to continue to learn, grow, and provide my clients with top notch design and application.

Commentary from the Artist

In preparation for my closing, I met some of the most amazing artists last night here in NY, and heard amazing stories of what they had done and accomplished with their art, and I really felt jipped 'cause at 30++, I felt I hadn't accomplished anything. No real shows, no high profile clients, no 100K budgets, no trips overseas.
So, now when I get compliments on my work (especially from artist such as these), it doesn't feel as good as it should because I'm still broke with a long list of short comings as an artist in Cleveland, including gettin work stolen by JULIUS LYLES, losing work to fire, doing murals with payment being the leftover paint to even being hired ($50) to clean the basement of an administrator from the Cleve. Inst. of Art, my alma mata. And I don't mean as a youngster. This has been as early as 5 years ago. Yet a very short resume of successes.
I could feel myself gettin upset, until Miguel (hope I spelled your right), in the midst of scrambling to get ready for this show, stopped, gave me a wide smile and said, " It doesn't matter how long it took. You're here now." And it put things back into perspective for me. I HAVE had many successes, small ones that have led me here that I am truly grateful for. Just none on this level. I've tried hard not to get excited about opportunities such as this, but maybe this is the one. Maybe the excitement is finally warranted. Maybe, just maybe (in the words of Jay Z) "This is MY time." Watch out NY 'cause this C-town boy might take some gettin' used to.

An Adventure InSanity Closing

If you didn't make my show opening, it's OK. However, you don't want to miss the closing. There will be an unveiling of the masterpiece that was not featured at the opening. Also, I will be performing @7:59. Performing what, you ask? Well, you'll have to come and see.

First Show in NY

My first show in New York. What a pleasant surprise as I never intended or thought for that matter my work suited for public viewing. Not only will this be my first show in the Big Apple, but a SOLO show. When I first came to New York in 2007, all I had was a duffle bag and a dream (literally) of one day being the painter I had once been as a child. It's funny how I've had to go full circle, from finger painting to graffiti to aribrushing to screen printing, to graphic design to product design, furniture design, to tattoos and body art back to painting. It's been quite a journey back home. This show will encompass that journey through examples of creations from each phase of artistic development. Through childhood, high school, college, corporate design, company ownership, and current tattoo development. Even images created while in the 'puzzle factory'. All of which have come together to embody who I've become.

I sincerely, hope that you and as many friends as you can invite will attend as it promises to be an evening of partying, drinking, dancing and surprises as well as interesting people, great art and even a performance or two. There may even be a raffle for some of my work, whose proceeds would go toward one of many mental health advocacy groups that provide a very important service to our communities.
